Butter Braised Cabbage

Braised cabbage makes for a great side dish
to serve along with cooked corned beef.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 large yellow onion, peeled and sliced
1 head fresh cabbage, cored and shredded
1/2 cup chicken stock
1/2 cup white wine
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions:
Heat butter in a large saute pan over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until soft.
Add the cabbage, chicken stock and wine
Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Cover and cook until cabbage is wilted,
about 15 to 20 minutes, serve warm.
